HISTORY

Faculty of Arts and Sciences was founded in the academic year of 2003-2004 depending on the University of Gaziantep as a total of eight departments including the Turkish Language and Literature, Western Languages and Literatures, History, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

With the foundation of Kilis 7 Aralik University on 29 May 2007, our Faculty became one of the academic institutions affiliated as Kilis 7 Aralik University.

Philosophy, Psychology, Oriental Languages and Literatures, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Sociology and Art History Departments commenced giving education in the academic year- 2009-2010; Biology department put an end to activities of educating and instructing at the end of the academic year- 2016-2017. Other departments proceed their activities of educating in an active way.

The first graduates of Our Faculty, who received their academic degrees in the 2007-2008 academic year, and it was the 15th time that we have graduates in the last academic year. As of the academic year- 2021-2022-our Faculty, which has 13 departments, pursues its academic activities actively with 11 departments with their students.

There are 4th grade students registered in the evening classes of the History and Turkish Language and Literature departments, and there are no new registrations for the evening classes.

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences, which has the largest number of people in our university, pursues to contribute to competent human and economic resources of Turkey by growing and developing rapidly with 102 employees, including 92 academic and 10 administrative and care attenders, and nearly 2000 students from different parts of Turkey.
